Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer in Filton on a contract basis. The role offers £46ph Inside IR35 and is based at the defence/aerospace sector, with a contract up to 31/07/2027. CATIA V5 experience and design configuration tools (PASS, DPDS, VPM, ICC/ACP) are essential.

You will contribute to end-to-end design, validate fuel system components, and support manufacturing with Dossier delivery and technical studies. Strong teamwork and communication are required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the end-to-end design process from conceptual design through maturity gates, DFM and manufacturing support
• Design and validation of Fuel System installation components with weight, cost, and performance optimization
• Deliver the Definition Dossier for Manufacturing and Assembly (Component and Final Assembly Line)
• Define, deliver, and enable technical studies, trades, and investigations per Design Methods and Procedures
• Develop design concepts for incremental product development and perform installation trials/prototyping as needed
• Manage introduction of modifications and provide in-service fleet and wing build-support

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Contribute to the 'end-to-end' design process from conceptual design, modification process in support of maturity gates, DFM, and support to manufacturing sites
• Design and validation of Fuel System installation components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements
• Deliver the Definition Dossier for Manufacturing and Assembly (Component and Final Assembly Line)
• Define, deliver, and enable technical studies, trades, and investigations to ensure the delivery of technical solutions in accordance with relevant Design Methods and Procedures
• Work on design concepts in support of product incremental development and apply real-life installation trials and prototyping when required
• Manage the introduction of new modifications, provide support to the in-service fleet, and wing build-support
