Job summary

NCR Atleos in Dundee, UK, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team working on media handling devices for self-service banking products. The role focuses on mechanical design, evaluation, and testing with suppliers and cross-functional engineers.

You will work on mechanisms for high-speed document handling, travel to customer sites, and contribute to cost-effective, robust designs while complying with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or better preferred).
• 3+ years post-graduate related experience.
• Experience with high-speed, document handling mechanisms is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD drawing, tolerancing, and documentation.
• Experience with rapid prototyping is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support new and existing media handling products from a mechanical perspective.
• Evaluate different technologies and provide recommendations with backup analysis.
• Gain experience in the Design of Mechanisms, working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture.
• Deliver cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards.
• Supplier engagement and change management.
• Collaborate with Engineers from different disciplines.
• Hold design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA.
• Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change.
