Job summary

NCR Atleos in Dundee, UK is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive in-house currency handling modules for self-service financial solutions. You will lead engineers across design, evaluation, testing and documentation to deliver robust electro/mechanical systems controlled by software.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree (Hons 2:1 or better), strong CAD skills (ProE/SolidWorks) and a proven ability to deliver cost‑effective, high‑quality designs while coordinating with

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering (Hons 2:1 or better preferred).
• Strong CAD capabilities with ProE or SolidWorks.
• Experience with currency handling or mechatronic systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design leadership in currency handling module design and test.
• Evaluate different technologies and provide recommendations with backup analysis
• Lead mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
• Experience in the design of mechanisms, working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture
• Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards
• Supplier engagement and change management
• Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA
• Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change
• The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies.
