Job summary

Camlin Group in Lisburn is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop and optimize cutting-edge electro-mechanical products for the Energy Utilities and Renewables sectors. You will work within the Mechanical Engineering team to deliver complex industrial products that meet stringent performance and quality standards.

You will contribute to NPI processes, produce engineering drawings and BoMs, and collaborate across departments to drive quality improvements while applying DFM/DFA

Qualifications

• A 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product design/development.
• Experience with Solid Edge or similar CAD packages.
• Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles.
• Ability to design cost effective solutions within budgets and timelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and evaluate mechanical designs for the Energy industry in line with Camlin's NPI process and regulatory standards.
• Apply engineering principles to evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications and test plans.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BoM) and liaise with Purchasing on suppliers.
• Ensure products perform in specified environments meeting Camlin quality and customer expectations.
• Contribute to PLM system oversight, including quality checks of changes and CAD integration.
• Apply DFM/DFA techniques to ensure cost-effective and efficient design.
• Collaborate with other engineering functions and Operations.
• Participate in design reviews and testing to uphold high-quality standards.
• Drive continual quality and performance improvements.
