Job summary

Camlin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop and optimize electro-mechanical products for the Energy Utilities and Renewables sectors. You will lead complex projects, mentor engineers and ensure designs meet stringent standards throughout the full lifecycle.

Based in Lisburn, Camlin emphasizes quality engineering, DFMA initiatives, and collaboration across engineering and operations to deliver reliable solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in mechanical design with full lifecycle experience.
• Experience with sheet metal and fabricated assemblies.
• Designing electro-mechanical assemblies for harsh environments (thermal management, ingress protection).
• Experience with Solid Edge CAD and GD&T in 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, testing and evaluation of mechanical designs for energy industry per Camlin NPI.
• Lead DTC and DFMA initiatives across mechanical products and assemblies.
• Apply engineering principles to evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, technical specifications and test plans.
• Create and maintain BoMs and liaise with Purchasing on suppliers.
• Ensure products perform in specified environments meeting Camlin quality expectations.
• Collaborate with other engineering functions and operations.
• Conduct design reviews and testing to uphold quality.
• Drive quality improvements in design and performance.
