Location: Lisburn
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Industry: Engineering / Manufacturing
Vickerstock are working with an established Northern Ireland engineering and manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Manufacturing Design Engineer (CAD/CAM) for their Lisburn operation.
The company is a genuine home-grown Northern Ireland success story, having developed and manufactured its products locally while building a strong presence across the UK, Ireland and wider international markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical Engineer who enjoys taking a product from the design stage and working out how it can be manufactured effectively in the real world.
Sitting between R&D and Production, you will take designs from the R&D team and develop the drawings, Bills of Materials and manufacturing information required to put them successfully into production.
The role will broadly consist of:
This is an on-site position, approximately 80% office-based and 20% spent within the manufacturing environment working closely with Production, machinery and manufacturing processes.
It isn't a purely office-based Design Engineering position or a purely machinery programming / nesting role. You will have the opportunity to see how designs translate into manufacture and make practical improvements to how products are produced.
Experience with CAD/CAM, CNC programming, nesting, sheet metal or fabrication processes would be particularly advantageous.
A relevant Engineering qualification would be beneficial, although experienced Engineers with a strong practical manufacturing background will also be considered.
This position could particularly suit a Mechanical Design Engineer who wants greater involvement in Manufacturing, a Manufacturing Engineer with strong CAD skills, or a CAD/CAM Engineer looking for a broader engineering position.
If you are a Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or CAD/CAM Engineer who enjoys seeing your engineering work progress from design through to the factory floor, we would be keen to speak with you.
