Job summary

White Label Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer to join its busy design team in Warrington. You will take products from concept through to manufacture, using SolidWorks to create detailed models, drawings and specs.

You will run design reviews, prototype, test, and refine designs, while keeping records in the QMS and collaborating with procurement, production, quality and sales. You’ll contribute to cost reductions, stay up to date with new materials and technologies, and help drive

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in engineering as a minimum, ideally a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering or similar.
• Experience in designing precision engineered components.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing and materials selection.
• Solid background in mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, mechanics and polymer materials, with familiarity of moulding processes.
• Detail-focused, analytical and a creative problem solver who can explain complex technical concepts clearly and works well in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop products, systems and components in SolidWorks, producing detailed models, drawings and technical specifications in line with departmental CAD standards
• Run design reviews with stakeholders to ensure designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards and manufacturability
• Capture customer design intent on make-to-print work, producing and checking drawings that support manufacture, inspection and supply
• Build and test prototypes, analyse results, carry out failure analysis and refine designs for performance, safety and reliability
• Manage design projects from concept through to manufacturing
• Maintain accurate design records within the QMS and present design reports and updates to management and stakeholders
• Work closely with procurement, production, quality and sales, including providing technical input for customer-facing materials
• Identify design improvements and cost reductions without compromising quality, keeping up to date with new technologies and materials
