Job summary

White Label Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for an East Yorkshire engineering and manufacturing business. You will own the full design lifecycle from concept to test, leading the creation of complex mechanical housings, jigs and tooling using SolidWorks with PDM, and coordinating with suppliers, production teams and customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mechanical design experience, strong SolidWorks skills with PDM, and a solid grasp of materials and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in fabrication, machined parts or precision components.
• Strong SolidWorks skills, including PDM.
• A good understanding of mechanical materials and manufacturing processes.
• Comfortable leading small projects and contributing to cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of sonar or marine equipment is a bonus, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Designing and detailing complex parts and assemblies.
• Working with steel, bronze, aluminium and specialist plastics.
• Creating 2D and 3D drawings, BOMs and work instructions.
• Supporting testing and validation, including on-site testing.
• Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to meet technical requirements.
