We are seeking a critical thinking, efficient, and reliable individual to join our Engineering Team. The role involves designing products, managing their development cycle, and ensuring successful transition into production with all necessary information for manufacturability.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, am – (Hybrid Working Available)

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience/qualifications – 5 years desirable
• Proven experience in product development with released products
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams
• Understanding of machinery directive safety legislation and compliance regulations
• Experience with 3D and 2D modelling software, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail
• Ability to produce high-quality manufacturing drawings with full tolerances and specifications
• Experience designing precision components to micron-level tolerances
• Strong knowledge of materials selection for mechanical assemblies
• Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work independently
• Problem-solving skills for quick resolution of issues

Work Location

This is a hybrid role based in our purpose-built facility in Witchford, Ely, near Cambridge, with options for remote work. Our location is accessible via train and bus from London.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve mechanical mechanisms for precision motion control and vibration isolation systems
• Develop, assemble, test, and evaluate theoretical designs following concurrence engineering approach
• Create detailed product specifications based on testing data
• Collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to address technical challenges
• Implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Compliance in designs
• Ensure product reliability and performance under specified conditions
• Plan and oversee product development to meet deadlines
• Manage issues related to cost, compliance, safety, and timing
