Mechanical Design Engineer

The Company

A leading engineering company specializing in the design and manufacture of industrial braking systems and support products.

The Role

The Design Engineer will work within an ISO 9001 environment, carrying out all aspects of design for the manufacture of the company's mechanical products.

The responsibilities include:

1. Working to ISO 9001 standards related to product design and order processing.
2. Providing calculations for performance and safety considerations, including FEA and FMEA analysis.
3. Designing for manufacture and assembly, producing 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings to current standards.
4. Utilizing the company's 3D CAD systems (NX, Inventor, AutoCAD) to their maximum capability.
5. Applying Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) processes for cost-effective solutions.
6. Producing detailed material specifications, IOM manuals, and technical reports.

The Candidate

To apply, you should have:

1. An Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
2. At least 5 years of related mechanical design experience within a 3D CAD environment.
3. Experience with FEA software is preferred.
4. Engineering experience related to rotating machinery is preferred.
5. Proficiency with NX, Inventor, and AutoCAD software is preferred.
