CIBSE Journal is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for a role based in Stretford, Manchester. You will design bespoke components for repairing water authority equipment, measuring parts for replacements, and creating designs with SolidWorks and AutoCAD where needed.

You will liaise with suppliers and shopfloor teams, manage bespoke projects, and help drive efficient manufacturing processes. A solid foundation in design and collaboration is essential.

We re hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester.

In this role, you ll be designing bespoke components for the repair of water authority equipment, working closely with suppliers and the shopfloor to produce practical design solutions.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?

• Designing components for the repair of water authority equipment
• Measuring existing parts to create new replacement components
• Producing designs using SolidWorks
• Using AutoCAD when required
• Creating designs for laser cutting and folding
• Working on bespoke design projects
• Requesting and reviewing quotes from suppliers
• Liaising with the shopfloor throughout the design and manufacturing process
