Job summary

KPJ Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Stretford, Manchester to design bespoke components for repairing water authority equipment. You will work closely with suppliers and the shopfloor to deliver practical design solutions.

The role uses SolidWorks and AutoCAD (when required) and involves measuring parts to create new replacements, laser cutting/folding designs, and handling quotes with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical components for repairs.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Confidence working on bespoke design projects.
• Ability to communicate with suppliers and shopfloor teams.
• AutoCAD experience (not essential).
• HNC qualification (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Designing components for the repair of water authority equipment.
• Measuring existing parts to create new replacement components.
• Producing designs using SolidWorks.
• Using AutoCAD when required.
• Creating designs for laser cutting and folding.
• Working on bespoke design projects.
• Requesting and reviewing quotes from suppliers.
• Liaising with the shopfloor throughout the design and manufacturing process.
