Job summary

Aspiring Mechanical Design Engineer role with Aspion Search, delivering full machinery designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for projects across the UK and internationally.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of hands-on design experience, a mechanical engineering qualification, and a strong track record in taking designs from concept to manufacture.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience managing designs through full lifecycle.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Research and concept development through to detailed design.
• Taking existing designs and adapting them into new machine formats.
• Modifying and improving existing equipment and machinery.
• Supporting the build and development of prototypes.
• Designing fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel.
• Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
• Producing detailed drawings and documentation for manufacture.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a machinery manufacturer delivering large projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting, innovative role within a business that is entering a significant growth phase. You will be joining a forward thinking engineering team and working in a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer position, designing full machinery using SolidWorks and taking projects from concept through to build.

The Mechanical Design Engineer must have experience designing full machinery with SolidWorks.

• Experience managing designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and installation
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Knowledge of electrical components and interfaces
