Job summary

Probe UK Limited in the North West seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a busy design office, delivering bespoke and standard equipment from concept through to manufacture.

You will produce detailed drawings, BOMs and documentation while collaborating with Production and other departments and applying EN standards and CE marking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design of bespoke equipment.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D CAD modelling (SolidWorks or Inventor).
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
• Experience designing bespoke equipment.
• Understanding of EN standards, CE marking and relevant regulations.
• Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Designing and detailing bespoke and standard equipment.
• Producing detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs and design documentation.
• Developing practical solutions to technical design challenges.
• Carrying out site visits and surveys where required.
• Working closely with Production and other departments throughout projects.
• Supporting value engineering, quality improvements and efficient design practices.
• Reviewing manufacturing modifications and updating drawings for future projects.

Mechanical Design Engineer Salary, Hours and Benefits

• * £38,000 - £44,000
• * 37 hours per week, with some flexitime and an earlier finish on Friday
• * Paid overtime

The Role

An exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and growing engineering business, working within a busy design office on a range of bespoke and standard equipment. You'll provide practical design solutions to technical challenges, produce detailed drawings for manufacture and work closely with colleagues across Design, Production and other departments.

Candidate Requirements

• * Mechanical Design Engineer experience
