Job summary

Verso Recruitment Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Buckingham to design electro-mechanical products with moving parts and robotics/actuation. You will design mechanical systems from concept to completion and produce engineering and assembly drawings for delivered systems.

You will translate client requirements into buildable designs and support builds, testing and on-site commissioning. SolidWorks or other 3D CAD experience is preferred, with a hands-on engineering approach.

• Hands-on engineering ability with comfort using hand tools.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred but strong relevant experience counts.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Buckingham

Salary: GBP35,000 to GBP40,000 basic DOE + bonus + overtime + benefits

You\'ll be working on complex electro-mechanical products involving complex moving parts and robotics/actuation. You do not need direct experience of robotics or complex moving parts, but you will have some experience of designing electronic/electro-mech products.

This role is ideal for someone who has gained initial industry experience and is looking to take the next step in their career.

You\'ll work on bespoke projects from concept to completion: scoping requirements with clients, designing the mechanical systems, then supporting the build, assembly, and testing through to on-site commissioning.

What you\'ll be doing

• Designing mechanical systems and components.


• Producing engineering and assembly drawings, plus instruction documentation for delivered systems


• Working with clients to translate bespoke requirements into buildable designs


• Helping maintain project plans and keeping delivery on track


• Working alongside software engineers and workshop technicians to integrate software with your hardware and keep builds true to your drawings

What we\'re looking for

• Mechanical design experience for any electro-mech products.


• SolidWorks experience preferred. But experience with any mainstream 3D CAD package would be fine.


• Confident, practical hands-on engineering ability - comfortable with hand tools and complex assembly


• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar is preferred, but strong relevant experience counts for just as much. So, a degree is not essential.

Nice to have, but NOT essential: knowledge of electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems, additive manufacturing experience, and an understanding of software and electronics integration for complex motion systems.
