Job summary

Aspion Search is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in the UK to design full machinery using SolidWorks and take projects from concept through build. You’ll join a growing team delivering large projects across the UK and internationally, with emphasis on hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical interfaces.

Applicants should have 3+ years’ experience, a mechanical engineering qualification, and proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Experience taking designs through full lifecycle from concept to manufacture.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop concepts through to detailed design.
• Adapt existing designs to new machine formats.
• Modify and improve existing equipment and machinery.
• Support prototype build and testing.
• Design fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel.
• Work with hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical interfaces.
• Produce detailed drawings and manufacturing documentation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a machinery manufacturer delivering large projects across the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting, innovative role within a business that is entering a significant growth phase. You will be joining a forward thinking engineering team and working in a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer position, designing full machinery using SolidWorks and taking projects from concept through to build.

The Mechanical Design Engineer must have experience designing full machinery with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Research and concept development through to detailed design
• Taking existing designs and adapting them into new machine formats
• Modifying and improving existing equipment and machinery
• Supporting the build and development of prototypes
• Designing fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel
• Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
• Producing detailed drawings and documentation for manufacture

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience managing designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture and installation
• Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Knowledge of electrical components and interfaces
