Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Cambridgeshire to join a hands-on product development environment.

You will develop designs from concept to prototype and production, produce 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, and work closely with production to resolve issues while exploring new materials and processes. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. This role offers exposure to full lifecycle and opportunities to own mechanical projects.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or related discipline
• 3D CAD design skills using SolidWorks
• Understand mechanical manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and finishing techniques
• Hands-on prototyping or workshop-based activities
• Experience developing consumer, scientific or electro-mechanical products

Responsibilities

• Develop designs from initial concept through to prototype, manufacture and production

Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £35k-£45k (depending on experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and innovative product development business. The company designs and manufactures high-quality, technically complex electro-mechanical products, taking projects from initial concept and development through to production.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineer looking to develop their career within a hands-on engineering environment. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle while developing your ability to take ownership of mechanical design projects.
