Job summary

VERTECH GROUP (UK) LTD in Wigan is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team. You will drive the complete product development process, blending creative mechanical design with hands-on engineering, prototyping and manufacturing to deliver innovative, safety-critical equipment.

The role demands strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or Inventor), solid GD&T knowledge, and the ability to produce detailed drawings.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Wigan

Salary: Circa £40K - £50K + Benefits

Mechanical Design Engineer required by an established engineering company developing a range of innovative products and equipment for specialist safety-critical applications!

This is an exciting, varied role involving the complete product development process, combining creative mechanical design with hands-on engineering, prototyping and manufacturing

Essential:

• Mechanical design engineering experience


• Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks or Inventor


• Knowledge of GD&T, design verification or product testing


• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings


• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies


• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials


• Practical problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
