Job summary

H.E.L Group is seeking a Mechanical Design and Assembly Engineer to design and modify laboratory-scale equipment for chemical R&D at the UK Head Office in Hemel Hempstead. You will work in a team to define project scope, ensure technical feasibility, and oversee assembly and testing of mechanical parts.

The role requires 3D CAD expertise (Inventor preferred), tight-tolerance design, and hands-on assembly experience using tools and CNC equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D CAD packages and generating engineering drawings for manufacturing.
• Background in assembly and use of hand tools, machine tools and CNC equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines and budget awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify laboratory-scale equipment for chemical R&D.
• Create detailed drawings and specify components for outsourced manufacture.
• Oversee assembly, testing, and validation of mechanical parts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, feasibility, and timelines.
• Maintain production, test, and QC equipment required for supply.
