Job summary

Talentmark is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a laboratory equipment manufacturer based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. This full-time role offers a 9am-5pm schedule and an opportunity to contribute to high-precision assembly and testing processes.

You will work closely with Project Engineers and the design team, perform fabrication, machining, calibration, and hydrostatic testing of pressure vessels, while maintaining safe, calibrated workshop procedures and accurate documentation.

• 3+ years in a mechanically focused role.
• Experience with fabrication and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical assembly of laboratory equipment in accordance with work instructions and assembly documentation.
• Work with Project Engineers and the Design team to ensure equipment is safely assembled, tested and ready for operation.
• Calibrate pressure fittings and perform hydrostatic testing of pressure vessels, documenting results in line with procedures.
• Maintain workshop equipment and keep areas safe and clean, completing weekly equipment safety checks.
• Manage stock levels of preventative maintenance spares for workshop equipment.

Talentmark are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join a labratory equipment manufacturer based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire on a full-time basis.

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical assembly of labratory equipment in accordance with work instructions and assembly documentation, ensuring all work meets required quality and external certification standards.
• Work closely with Project Engineers and the Design team to ensure equipment is safely assembled, tested and ready for operation.
• Calibrate pressure fittings and carry out hydrostatic testing of pressure vessels, accurately documenting results in line with internal and external procedures.
• Maintain workshop equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and operational condition, including completing weekly equipment safety checks.
• Manage stock levels of preventative maintenance spares for workshop equipment, ensuring essential parts are available when required.

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanically focused role, with practical experience in fabrication and machining processes such as cutting, drilling, finishing, milling and abrasive work.
• A vocational or academic technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience assembling pressure fittings and joints, manipulating tubing and working with extrusion equipment.
• Strong practical skills and manual dexterity, with the ability to use tools safely and accurately to assemble components such as manifolds for fluid and gas flow.
• Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications.
