Options Resourcing Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Shift Engineer for a flagship retail site on Oxford Street, London. You will maintain building services and HVAC systems, working with a skilled engineering team on a 4on 4off days/nights shift pattern.

The role requires City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering and experience in commercial building services, with strong fault-finding skills and a focus on health and safety. Competitive benefits package included.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous experience in commercial building services environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Good knowledge of HVAC systems and building services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services.
• Fault-find, diagnose and repair mechanical systems and plant.
• Maintain HVAC, heating, ventilation, pumps and related equipment.
• Complete permits to work, logbooks and compliance documentation.
• Monitor plant performance and respond to BMS alarms.
• Supervise subcontractors and service providers on site.
• Ensure works comply with Health & Safety regulations and client requirements.
• Respond to mechanical faults as part of shift team.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities.
• Provide a professional service in a high-profile retail environment.
• Assist with a safe, clean engineering environment.

Salary: £44,000 + Benefits Package

Shift Pattern: 4on 4off - Days & Nights (7-7)

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management provider at a flagship retail site on Oxford Street, London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanical engineer to develop their career within a prestigious commercial environment, working as part of a highly skilled engineering team responsible for maintaining essential building services and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems.
• Fault find, diagnose and repair mechanical systems and associated plant.
• Carry out maintenance on HVAC, heating, ventilation, pumps and associated mechanical equipment.
• Complete permits to work, logbooks and compliance documentation.
• Monitor plant performance and respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms.
• Support and monitor subcontractors and specialist service providers on site.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, site procedures and client requirements.
• Respond effectively to mechanical faults and building services issues as part of the shift engineering team.
• Maintain accurate records of planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Provide a professional service while working within a high-profile, customer-facing retail environment.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and compliant engineering environment.

Requirements Essential:

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance or a relevant discipline such as Plumbing, HVAC etc.
• Previous experience working within commercial building services environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Good knowledge of HVAC and associated mechanical systems.
• Ability to work effectively within a shift-based engineering team.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working within a flagship retail, commercial or high-profile client environment.
• Additional mechanical or building services qualifications.
• Experience working with HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, boilers and pumps.
• Experience working with BMS-controlled mechanical systems.
