Job summary

EQUANS is recruiting a Mechanical Craftsperson for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities include maintenance of water and mechanical systems at NHS Trust facilities, LV/TMV/Legionella related tasks, and on-site duties. DBS check is required; driving licence essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ or C&G Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing required or equivalent.
• Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training provided or essential.
• Water Hygiene Training desirable.
• Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the full range of Mechanical Craftsperson tasks as directed by management.
• Undertake maintenance and servicing to NHS Trust facilities.
• Work in compliance with EQUANS KPIs and contract requirements.
• Perform temperature monitoring, disinfection tasks, and AHU servicing as needed.
• Participate in on‑call rota and drive company vehicle when required.

Job description

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Craftsperson to join our team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

• Responsibilities mainly at the Mental Health Sites of Barberry, Oleaster & Zinnia, with potential extension to other areas on the contract as requested by Senior Management.
• Undertake any reasonable duties directed by TSM/Supervisor/Helpdesk to maintain all services to the NHS Trust, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed satisfactorily, accurately and promptly.
• Perform the complete range of Mechanical Craftsperson tasks as required or directed by management.
• Carry out all works in compliance with EQUANS KPI’s and contract.
• Have knowledge of water / mechanical systems within a healthcare environment and maintenance / testing activities.
• Have knowledge of Legionella and other water pathogens.
• Undertake temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and disinfection, tank visual inspections, TMV servicing, AHU servicing, and similar duties.
• Drive the company vehicle as required to meet the needs of the service.
• Participate in on‑call rota.
