Job summary

Equans is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Water) for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is 37.5 hours weekly with a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will perform water system maintenance, testing, and reactive tasks across the estate.

Candidates should have NVQ/CG Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing, Water Hygiene qualification, and ideally Level 3 qualifications with healthcare experience. DBS clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ/CG Level 2 Heating, Venting and Plumbing.
• NVQ/CG Level 3 Heating/Vent/Plumbing desirable.
• Water Hygiene qualification desirable.
• Experience in health care environment desirable.
• Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training.

Responsibilities

• Undertake water system planned preventive maintenance and testing.
• Complete maintenance and reactive tasks on estate equipment (e.g. TMV servicing, water tanks, CLO2 units, showers, water plants).
• Understand operation of water systems and water hygiene practices during maintenance and testing.
• Provide reports, calculations and recommendations for efficient running of plant and equipment.

What will you deliver?

Undertake the water system planned preventive maintenance, testing, breakdown maintenance and other maintenance related activities to the EstateComplete maintenance and reactive tasks on the following but not limited to; TMV Servicing, Water Tanks, CLO2 Units, Showers, Water Plants, Temperature ChecksUnderstand the operation of water systems and good water hygiene practices to correctly apply this knowledge and understand during the performance of Estates Services maintenance and testing activitiesProvide as requested by management reports, calculations, and recommendations for the correct and efficient running of all plant and equipmentInterpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision
