Job summary

OHUK is recruiting a Mechanical Construction Manager to lead mechanical installation works on residential projects within a leading MEP subcontractor framework in the UK. You will manage on-site teams, coordinate with main contractors and clients, and ensure delivery to programme, budget and quality standards.

The role requires proven site-management experience in rail or industrial sectors, solid mechanical qualifications, and SMSTS/SSSTS certification.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within rail or industrial sectors.
• Relevant mechanical qualifications and up-to-date industry certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical installation works on site and ensure programme delivery.
• Manage and supervise mechanical operatives and subcontractors on site.
• Coordinate works in line with the project programme and budget.
• Ensure installations meet current regulations and project specs.
• Liaise with main contractors, clients and consultants.
• Maintain health & safety on site and oversee commissioning/handover.

OHUK, a specialist recruitment agency within the MEP construction sector are currently working with the UKS leading MEP subcontractor who are looking to recruit a Mechanical Construction Manager on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor who specialise in various sectors including; rail, industrial, data centre, commercial and laboratories.

The Role

As A Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical installation works on residential projects, ensuring delivery is on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and supervising mechanical operatives and subcontractors on site
• Coordinating works in line with programme requirements
• Ensuring all installations meet current regulations and project specifications
• Liaising with main contractors, clients, and consultants
• Managing health & safety on site
• Overseeing commissioning and handover processes

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within the rail ideally OR industrial sector
• Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
