A manufacturing company in Redditch is seeking a Mechanical Assembly operative for the metal finishing department. The successful candidate will finish precision engineered metal components using hand grinders and polishers. Candidates should possess mechanical competence with hand tools. Permanent Position

Environment: Manufacturing - Precision Engineering

Location: Redditch

Shift and Pay Options

Option 1: Mon-Fri (Days)

Monday to Thursday (7.30am to 4.30pm) and Fridays (7.30am to 12.30pm)

Pay: Up to £14.95 per hour

Monday to Wednesday (4.30pm to 2.30am) and Thursdays (4.30pm to 1.30am) (39hrs)

Pay:

Up to £17.72 per hour

Overtime available at x1.33 Mon-Fri, x1.5 Saturday and x2 Sunday

holidays are calculated in hours but work out to be 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year inc. bank holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks inc. bank holidays following 1 year of continuous service. Death in Service Benefit - 2 x annual salary. Employer 3% / Employee 5% - Pension.

Overview

We now require a Mechanical Assembly operative to join the metal finishing department. As the Mechanical Assembly operative you will be tasked to finish precision engineered metal components working to tight tolerances using hand tools such as hand grinders and metal polishers.

This role be will be working within the finishing department, fettling, de-burring and polishing metal components with various air powered hand tools.

The ideal candidate / Mechanical Assembly operative may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
  • Mechanically competent working with hand tools - grinders, ratchets etc.
Commutable from:

Redditch, Alcester, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and surrounding areas
