Job summary

We Are Zenith is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Assembly Production Operative to join a busy North-East manufacturing site on a temporary basis with potential to go permanent. You will assemble components per drawings, interpret specs, perform quality checks and maintain a safe, organised workspace.

You should have experience in mechanical assembly, be proficient with hand tools and tape measures, and demonstrate reliable, safety‑conscious teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production & Mechanical Assembly environment.
• Able to use a standard tape measure and read engineering drawings.
• Experience with impact drivers and hand tools in manufacturing.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/work instructions.
• Reliable, motivated and safety-conscious in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products and components in line with drawings and work instructions.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and documentation accurately.
• Carry out quality checks and liaise with quality to meet standards.
• Identify defects, report rework needs and health & safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and support improvements.
• Communicate with team leaders to achieve manufacturing objectives.
• Complete required training and follow company procedures.

Job description

We are currently working with our client who are a North-East Manufacturer recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Production Operative on a temporary basis initially with the possibility of becoming permanent. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy production team, supporting the assembly and manufacture of high-quality products while working to production schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble products and components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions. (must have experience with Mechanical Assembly)
• Accurately interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
• Carry out quality checks and work closely with the quality department to ensure standards are met.
• Identify and report defects, rework requirements and health & safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the production team.
• Communicate effectively with team leaders and colleagues to ensure manufacturing objectives are achieved.
• Complete all required training and follow company procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production & Mechanical Assembly environment.
• Able to use a standard tape measure
• Familiar with Impact Drivers in Manufacturing
• Good mechanical assembly skills and experience using hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, motivated and safety-conscious approach to work.

• Manufacturing or engineering qualifications/apprenticeship.
