Job summary

We Are Zenith is recruiting an Assembly Production Operative in Blyth, UK, to join a busy production team on a temporary basis with potential to go permanent. You will assemble products per drawings, perform inspections, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on mechanical assembly experience, ability to read drawings, and a vigilant, team-spirited approach. Overtime may be available as operations scale up.

  • Able to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Reliable, motivated and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products and components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
  • Carry out quality checks and work closely with the quality department to ensure standards are met.
  • Identify and report defects, rework requirements and health & safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the production team.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders and colleagues to meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Complete all required training and follow company procedures.

Job description

We are currently working with our client who are a North-East Manufacturer recruiting for an experienced Assembly Production Operative on a temporary basis initially with the possibility of becoming permanent. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy production team, supporting the assembly and manufacture of high-quality products while working to production schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble products and components in line with engineering drawings and work instructions. (must have experience with Mechanical Assembly)
  • Accurately interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation.
  • Carry out quality checks and work closely with the quality department to ensure standards are met.
  • Identify and report defects, rework requirements and health & safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the production team.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders and colleagues to ensure manufacturing objectives are achieved.
  • Complete all required training and follow company procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production & Mechanical Assembly environment.
  • Able to use a standard tape measure
  • Familiar with Impact Drivers in Manufacturing
  • Good mechanical assembly skills and experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, motivated and safety-conscious approach to work.
Desirable
  • Manufacturing or engineering qualifications/apprenticeship.
