Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a well-established manufacturer to recruit a Mechanical Assembler / Mechanical Assembly Operative / Mechanical Fitter. You will assemble machinery to high quality standards, with some electrical assembly exposure, in a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.

The role requires at least 3 years’ experience in mechanical fitting/assembly, Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and the ability to read drawings and BOMs; training apprentices and supporting new product

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Operative in an engineering background.
• Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject, or Apprentice trained.
• Experience assembling, fitting, or installing manufacturing machines / bespoke equipment will be favoured.

Responsibilities

• The mechanical assembly of a wide variety of machinery parts
• Read and interpret mechanical assembly diagrams, engineering drawings, bills of materials and specifications
• Confirm quality checks have been completed
• Providing training, guidance, and support to apprentices and other members of the assembly team
• Support the integration of new product lines being adopted

Job description

Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer, they are looking for a skilled Mechanical Assembler / Mechanical Assembly Operative / Mechanical Fitter to assemble their manufactured machinery to a high quality standard. NOTE: You will also require some Electrical Assembly experience, but mostly Mechanical.

Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour + Overtime

Hours of work: 40 hours a week, normal day hours, Monday to Friday

Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer / Assembly Operative, preferably in an Engineering background
• Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject, or Apprentice trained
• Experience of assembling, fitting, or installing Manufacturing Machines / Special Purpose Machinery building experience will be favoured, however other industries building bespoke equipment may also be considered
