Job summary

Interaction - York is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to inspect vehicles, report findings, and complete condition reports across BCA sites. The role requires driving across regions with regular travel and a shift from Wednesday to Sunday or Saturday to Wednesday.

You should have NVQ Level 2, solid mechanical knowledge, familiarity with diagnostics and EV/hybrid systems, and a full UK license. Training and support are provided; a competitive hourly rate plus bonus.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent.
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and EV/hybrid vehicles is advantageous.
• Excellent written communication and ability to interact at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Job description

Vehicle Technician / Mechanic

£13.99 per hour (£30,917.90k annually) plus bonus (OTE around £35k)

Hours - 8.15am-5.45pm Wednesday to Sunday OR Saturday to Wednesday

As a Vehicle Inspector, you'll be responsible for:

• Conducting vehicle inspections following established procedures, reporting findings via a PDA report template
• Complete used vehicle condition reports
• Collaborate with team members to maintain daily site inspections
• Engage with customer contacts to ensure high quality service delivery
• Travel to various BCA sites within your agreed region will be regular, however, travel to further distances will be expected if and when needed

What we're looking for

To excel in this role, you must have:

• An NVQ Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• An understanding of vehicle diagnostics, software updates, and electric/hybrid vehicles (advantageous)
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• A full UK driving licence
