Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Linwood (Scotland) is seeking an experienced mechanic to prepare customer vehicles for road use, with a focus on meticulous workmanship and pride in your craft. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of manufacturers and latest vehicle technology, in a collaborative team setting.

The role includes servicing, repairs, diagnostics, DVSA testing (where authorised), and ongoing training, with benefits and salary progression potential.

Qualifications

• Essential skills include a Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance certificate and solid automotive industry experience.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a busy team with good communication.
• Capacity to follow written and spoken instructions and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues with diagnostics equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts and carry out DVSA testing if authorised.
• Road test vehicles to check repairs and ensure road readiness.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
