Job summary

Revved Up Recruitment is assisting an independent garage in Stanford-le-Hope to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. You will work on a variety of vehicles, performing servicing, engine work and driven diagnostics in a hands-on workshop environment.

The role requires practical experience, reliability, and the ability to work independently within a small team. Salary ranges from £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, with a standard Mon–Fri schedule and optional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Motor Mechanic or similar.
• Strong all-round mechanical knowledge and practical repair experience.
• Experience carrying out servicing, clutch replacements and engine work.
• Confidence diagnosing faults and working through repairs independently.
• Reliable, hardworking attitude with pride in the quality of your work.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a small independent garage team.
• Relevant automotive qualifications are advantageous, but practical experience and versatility are key.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and identify effective repair solutions.
• Complete clutch replacements and associated mechanical repairs.
• Carry out engine repairs and other complex mechanical work.
• Undertake general mechanical repairs across a range of vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles and identify faults or additional work required.
• Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be confident working independently, diagnosing faults and completing jobs to a high standard. The garage is looking for someone with solid practical experience who can turn their hand to most aspects of general vehicle maintenance and repair.

Salary and Working Hours

Salary: £35,000-£45,000 per annum , depending on experience and ability. Monday to Friday: 9:00am - 6:00pm. Saturday available if wanted. Full-time, permanent position.
