Hawk Hiring LTD in Andover is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Car Mechanic to join our premier independent service team. You will perform repairs and maintenance to a dealership-standard level, using modern diagnostic tools and multi-brand software.

We offer training, a clear career path, and a work schedule with no weekend shifts. NVQ 2/3 or equivalent, a valid UK driving licence, and hands-on garage experience are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent.
• At least 2 years of hands-on garage/workshop experience.
• F‑Gas certification preferred or interest in obtaining it.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive repairs and maintenance, including brakes, steering, suspension, exhaust, tyres and chassis work.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic scanners and multi-brand software.
• Carry out routine servicing, multi-point inspections and manufacturer-aligned maintenance.
• Maintain precise digital job records and collaborate with the service team to keep workshop flow smooth.
• Assist with MOT testing and vehicle inspections (training provided).

Your Role

As a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Andover facility, you will:

• Execute comprehensive repairs and maintenance, including braking, steering, suspension, exhaust, tyre fitting, and general chassis work.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical & electrical faults using modern diagnostic scanners and multi-brand software.
• Carry out routine servicing, multi-point safety inspections, and manufacturer-aligned maintenance.
• Maintain precise digital job records while collaborating closely with a friendly service team to keep workshop flow seamless.
• Assist with MOT testing and vehicle inspections (with full training provided if you are not yet qualified).

What You Need

• Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent). Practical, time-served experience is highly valued alongside at least 2 years of hands‑on experience in a garage, workshop, or fast-fit setting. F‑Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it).
• Licensing: Full UK driving licence is essential. An active Class 4 and 7 MOT Tester licence is preferred (full training provided for suitable candidates).
• Equipment & Mindset: Must possess your own hand tools for daily repair work. Strong diagnostic problem‑solving skills, pride in quality mechanical workmanship, and a collaborative team attitude.
