Job summary

Biffa Group in Wakefield is seeking two MDR & IVC Maintenance Engineers to support plant reliability, safety and performance across MDR and IVC operations. You will install, repair, commission, fault-find and maintain with minimal supervision on three-phase electrical systems and equipment testing, contributing to uptime targets.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience commissioning, test-running, and fault-finding on industrial plant and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic drawings.
• Good working knowledge of rotating machinery, shaft alignment, and conveyors.
• Competent in use of machine tools and hand tools for maintenance.
• Working knowledge of PTW and LOTO systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults across plant equipment.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, installations, and improvements.
• Commission and test-run equipment following installation or maintenance.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive tasks using CMMS.
• Engage in site training such as MEWP, FLT, Telehandler, and Confined Space Entry.
