Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Masons MRF Facility in Suffolk. The role involves responding to engineering needs, reducing downtime, and adhering to health and safety standards.

Day shifts are 06:00–16:00 or 07:00–17:00, with nights 17:00–03:00 occurring one week per month. You will perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on site equipment, supervise contractors when needed, and use the CMMS to manage work requests and stock.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of plant and conveyors is desirable.
• Welding and fabrication skills are desirable.
• Understanding of electrical/instrument maintenance desirable.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety instructions to maintain a safe working environment.
• Where necessary supervise contractors and ensure work meets required standards.
• Support Engineering Supervisor in developing team members' skills and abilities.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance on site equipment.
• Identify potential faults and opportunities to improve plant efficiency.
• Use CMMS to manage work requests, track equipment history and stock usage.
• Maintain workplace, tools and facilities to prevent hazards and promote good practice.

Education

Level 3 Qualified Mechanical/Plant and/or Engineering (desirable)
