Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to cover 4 on/4 off shifts (12 hours, days and nights) on site. You will diagnose faults, perform planned and reactive maintenance, and upgrade plant where required.

Proficiency in electrical systems, conveyors and overhead cranes is essential, with experience in FMCG environments. You will work within a small team, ensuring SHEQ standards and robust maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship with electrical bias (ONC/BTEC NVQ3).
• BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience with single and 3-phase AC/DC systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose running faults and ensure rapid repairs.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Perform plant upgrades and modifications to standards.
• Log work in the CMMS and maintain records.
• Develop and implement the preventative maintenance program.
• Anticipate machine failures and propose improvements to reduce downtime.
