Job summary

Slough Borough Council seeks a Team Manager to lead the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Capacity Act team, delivering statutory MCA/DoLs duties. You will oversee the team, provide expert advice on complex cases, assess performance, and work with partners to ensure lawful, person-centred practice.

You will shape procedures, data management and quality assurance while representing the Council on panels and networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MCA/DoLs policy, procedure and practice issues.
• Provide expert advice on MCA and DoLs to senior managers and ASC staff.
• Develop procedures and staff guidance for robust decision making within ASC regarding MCA.
• Develop data management processes and QA for DoLs within the service.
• Implement a robust QA framework including auditing for MCA.
• Quality assure assessments received from external suppliers.
• Ensure detailed advice is provided to adults or their representatives on DoLs procedures.
• Represent Slough Borough Council on MCA/DoLs panels, working groups and networks.
