A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Haringey is seeking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teaching Assistant to join its support team on a long-term basis starting ASAP.
As the successful Maths Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support students across KS3 and KS4 within the Maths department. You will provide classroom support, work with students in small groups and deliver one-to-one support where required.
A key responsibility will be supporting students with their understanding and engagement in Maths. You will help students access the curriculum, complete classwork, develop their confidence and make positive academic progress.
The successful Maths Teaching Assistant will also have experience supporting behaviour. You will work with students who may require additional support to remain focused and engaged within lessons, promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a productive learning environment.
Previous experience working within education is desirable, and experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs would be highly advantageous. This may include supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD or other additional learning needs.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient, patient and proactive, with strong behaviour management skills and a genuine desire to support young people academically and personally.
