Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident and proactive KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming junior school in Haringey this November. You’ll provide a combination of general classroom support and targeted SEN assistance, helping pupils across Key Stage 2 develop confidence, independence and stronger academic skills.

Ideal candidates will have previous primary school TA experience, SEN support exposure, and a solid understanding of the KS2 curriculum.

Qualifications

• Previous primary school Teaching Assistant experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is essential.
• Good understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
• Confident supporting English and Maths.
• Able to balance whole-class responsibilities with individual pupil needs.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive within a busy classroom.
• Strong communication and positive behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS2 (Years 3–6).
• Provide general classroom assistance alongside the class teacher.
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support.
• Help pupils access English, Maths and wider curriculum lessons.
• Support children with additional learning, attention or communication needs.
• Deliver literacy and numeracy interventions where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and classroom engagement.
• Adapt resources and activities to individual learning levels.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCo to monitor progress.

Location: Crouch End, Haringey, N8 (commutable from Hornsey, Muswell Hill, Wood Green, Finsbury Park and Highgate)
Pay: £110–£120 per day
Start Date: November 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
