Job summary

TeacherActive in London is seeking an experienced Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Haringey area. You will provide targeted academic support across English, Maths and Science for GCSE preparation.

The role focuses on KS3- KS4, 1:1 and small-group tutoring, behavior support and helping pupils stay engaged and confident learners.

Qualifications

• Experience as Secondary Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor or Academic Mentor
• Strong knowledge of English, Maths and/or Science
• Confident delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
• Can support pupils working towards their GCSEs
• Excellent communication and behaviour-management skills
• Patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships with young people
• Ideally has previous UK secondary school experience
• Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS3 and KS4

We are looking for a confident and engaging Teaching Assistant who has previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils and can provide targeted academic support and tutoring across the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.

The Role
