Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School in Reading is seeking a committed Maths Classroom Teacher to join the Maths department as Second in Department. You will plan, resource and deliver high-quality lessons, contribute to curriculum development and support students to achieve strong progress and high academic standards.

The role requires QTS, a good honours degree and PGCE or equivalent, plus the ability to engage with a diverse student cohort and collaborate with staff, parents and the wider school community.

Qualifications

  • Hold a good quality degree, a PGCE or equivalent qualification in secondary education, and QTS.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, resource and deliver high-quality Maths lessons.
  • Shows commitment to achieving strong progress and high academic standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Maths lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students make strong progress.
  • Assess students' progress and inform teaching to support improvement.
  • Contribute to Maths curriculum development and wider school initiatives.
  • Build professional relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with support staff to enable access to learning for all students.
