Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School in Reading seeks a proactive Maths Classroom Teacher with QTS to inspire and challenge students aged 11-18. You will plan engaging lessons, assess progress and contribute to curriculum development within a supportiveTrust environment.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team, uphold high standards, and engage in wider school life including enrichment and CPD opportunities within Maiden Erlegh Institute.

Qualifications

  • Hold a good quality degree, a PGCE or equivalent qualification in secondary education, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be a skilled classroom practitioner with the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Maths lessons.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students progress.
  • Assess students' knowledge and progress to inform teaching.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and to the wider life of the school and Trust.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Classroom Teacher of Maths to join our team at Maiden Erlegh School. Second in Department This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled classroom practitioner who is passionate about Mathematics and committed to helping every student achieve their potential. You will plan, resource and deliver highly effective lessons, contribute to curriculum development and create a safe, purposeful and ambitious learning environment in which students can make strong progress and achieve high academic standards. You will use a range of effective teaching approaches to engage students, promote enjoyment of Mathematics and overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will establish positive professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents and carers and will contribute positively to the wider life of the school and Trust., As a Classroom Teacher of Maths, you will:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Maths lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students.
  • Create a purposeful and inclusive classroom environment where all students are supported to make strong progress and achieve high academic standards.
  • Use a range of effective teaching strategies to meet differing needs and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assess students' knowledge, understanding and progress, using this information to inform future teaching and support improvement.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement, creating a safe and positive environment for learning.
  • Contribute to the development and effective delivery of the Maths curriculum.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Direct and work effectively with support staff assigned to lessons to help students access learning successfully.
  • Contribute to tutor provision and support students' wider personal development and wellbeing.
  • Take an active role in the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the sharing of effective practice within the school and across the wider Trust.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, following all relevant school and Trust policies and procedures. The ideal candidate
