Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist Alternative Provision in Nottingham seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team. You will deliver high-quality maths lessons to small groups and adapt planning to meet diverse learning needs.

The setting focuses on rebuilding confidence and engagement for pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and other challenges. The role offers a supportive leadership team, strong professional development, and potential for a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Mathematics at Secondary level.
• Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH needs.
• Ability to engage learners who may have barriers to education.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality Maths lessons to small class groups.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
• Encouraging pupil engagement and participation in lessons.
• Supporting students to achieve academic and personal targets.
• Building positive relationships that promote trust and confidence.
• Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Working closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
• Promoting positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
