Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Secondary Maths Teacher to work in Haverhill and surrounding West Suffolk/Cambridgeshire borders. You will deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities possible, and choose day-to-day cover or longer-term department placements to suit your timetable.

Applicants should hold QTS or equivalent, possess strong classroom management and excellent communication, and be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS (or recognised UK teaching qualification).
• Specialist knowledge in Mathematics across KS3/KS4 (KS5 is a bonus).
• Strong classroom management and confidence to teach in dynamic secondary environments.
• Adaptable, punctual, and professional with excellent communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering problem-solving and exam readiness.
• Differentiate learning resources to support students with diverse abilities, including SEND or high prior attainment.
• Leave clear, professional handover notes for regular class teachers on day-to-day cover.
• For long-term roles: plan, prepare, mark, assess progress, attend department meetings, and participate in parents' evenings.

• Differentiate learning resources and delivery to support students with diverse learning abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or high prior attainment.

• Leave clear, professional handover notes for regular class teachers when fulfilling day-to-day cover assignments.

• For long-term roles: take full responsibility for planning, preparing, marking, assessing student progress against GCSE specifications, attending department meetings, and participating in parents' evenings as required.

What We Look For:
