Activate Learning is seeking a Maths Teacher on a maternity cover basis to join our Academic Studies Faculty at Guildford College. The role is fixed-term, part-time working 19 hours per week, with a salary of £32,486 - £45,404 per year. Contract ends March 2028.

You will deliver GCSE Maths courses, inspire learners, and tailor teaching to diverse needs. Prior FE experience is welcome, and training and development are provided to support your progression.

What you'll be doing

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to inspire, so that students studying on our GCSE Maths courses have a memorable learning experience.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.

This is a fixed-term, part-time maternity cover role working 19 hours per week (FTE 0.51) based at our Guildford College. The hours would be worked over Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The contract ends in March 2028.

What we're looking for

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement. Understanding the importance of tailoring our teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners. It's essential to use strategies that promote engagement, accommodate diverse learning styles, and build a strong foundation for academic growth.

Previous teaching experience in the FE sector would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our Maths courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

You'll have:
