Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Derby is seeking a Maths Teacher for maternity cover starting after October half term 2026. The role covers KS3 and KS4, full-time and offers a daily rate of £180 – £235.

You will deliver engaging lessons, follow schemes of work, assess pupil progress and uphold high standards of behaviour and literacy within a supportive, inclusive school community.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4.
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for Maths.
• Be organised, adaptable and committed to high-quality teaching.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for you next role teaching Maths in a school located in Derby?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Derby to recruit a full time Maths Teacher for a maternity cover starting after October half term 2026. This role will involve teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, full time, and is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school community.

The Role - Maths Teacher (Mainly KS3 with KS4)

As an Maths Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging and well-planned Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4

Follow established schemes of work while bringing creativity to lessons

Assess, track and support pupil progress effectively

Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and literacy

Contribute positively to the Maths department and wider school ethos

Contract & Salary Details

Start date: After October half term 2026 (maternity cover)

Working pattern: full time

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

£180 - £235 per day
