Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Maths Teacher for a Derby secondary school on a maternity cover starting after October half term 2026. The role is full-time and covers KS3 and KS4, offering a supportive and inclusive school community.

You will deliver engaging Maths lessons, follow schemes of work, assess progress and contribute to departmental development while upholding high expectations for behaviour and literacy.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for Maths.
• Be organised, adaptable and committed to high-quality teaching.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-planned Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Follow established schemes of work while bringing creativity to lessons.
• Assess, track and support pupil progress effectively.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and literacy.
• Contribute positively to the Maths department and wider school ethos.
