Job summary

Trinity School, part of the Newbury Academy Trust, is seeking a Maths Teacher/ Mentor to join our Mathematics Department. This role focuses on closing gaps in knowledge, building confidence, and delivering GCSE Maths to a small post-16 cohort needing to resit.

The successful candidate will mentor targeted students, deliver small-group teaching, manage the online tutoring programme, and support students both in and out of the classroom to help them achieve their very best.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with eligibility to teach in England.
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
  • Higher level Maths qualification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use assessment data to identify gaps.
  • Strong communication with students, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and mentor targeted students to close gaps in mathematical knowledge.
  • Deliver small-group teaching to support GCSE maths and resits.
  • Manage our online tutoring programme for Maths.
  • Support students in and out of the classroom to achieve their best.
  • Liaise with families and teachers and align with Trinity's ethos.

Job description

Trinity School, part of the Newbury Academy Trust, is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher/ Mentor to join our Mathematics Department. This is a rewarding role working with identified students to close gaps in knowledge and skills, build confidence and improve progress, alongside teaching GCSE Maths to a small cohort of post-16 students who need to resit. Working closely with the Maths team, the successful candidate will identify and mentor targeted students, deliver small-group teaching, manage our online tutoring programme, and support students both in and out of the classroom to help them achieve their very best. This post would suit either a qualified teacher or someone with GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at grade 4/C or above, a relevant higher level Maths qualification, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning in mathematics.
