Job summary

North Oxfordshire Academy is seeking a Learning Coach to support students in mathematics and boost confidence. You will work with the SENDCo, SLT, and maths teachers to deliver targeted interventions and promote positive attitudes to maths learning.

The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support, behaviour management in maths, and collaboration to implement IEPs. GCSEs and TA Level 3 are required or willingness to complete. Term-time hours apply.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths, English and Science (Grade C/4 or above) and Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification (or willingness to complete).
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to explain mathematical concepts in an accessible and engaging way.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to develop numeracy skills, mathematical understanding, and confidence
• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies within mathematics lessons
• Delivering personalised intervention programmes and targeted learning support to close gaps in mathematical knowledge
• Collaborating with mathematics teachers and external professionals to implement IEPs and support strategies
• Supervising students during lunch and academy activities
• Encouraging positive learning habits, problem-solving skills, resilience, and a growth mindset within mathematics learning environments
