Job summary
Weston College is recruiting an apprentice lecturer to support its NEET and engagement programmes, with a particular focus on maths. The role combines classroom support and small group work with learner mentoring, while the post holder completes the Level 5 Learning and Skills Coach Apprenticeship.
Work is carried out under experienced staff, with responsibility increasing gradually towards independent small group and one-to-one delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience of working with young people.
- Experience delivering education, training or targeted interventions for disengaged learners.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for children and young people in an education setting.
Responsibilities
- Support lecturers with planning and delivering lessons within NEET and engagement programmes.
- Deliver small group and one-to-one learning activities under supervision, moving towards greater independence.
- Support learners to develop employability skills, confidence, motivation and positive learning behaviours.
- Assist with preparing teaching and learning resources.
- Provide classroom support.
- Provide learner mentoring.
- Carry out student engagement activity.
- Complete the Level 5 Learning and Skills Coach Apprenticeship.
