  • Find creative ways to make Maths and ICT accessible, relevant and engaging for students
  • Build positive relationships that help students develop confidence and re-engage with learning
  • Encourage resilience, independence, problem solving and a willingness to try
  • Monitor progress, recognise achievements and help students understand how far they have come
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes for students
What you will bring

You don't need to be a qualified teacher. We're looking for someone who has the knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm to inspire young people. You'll bring:

  • Strong Maths and/or ICT subject knowledge

You'll be joining a supportive environment where you can develop your experience within specialist education while helping young people achieve qualifications, build confidence and begin to see themselves differently as learners. If you're ready to use your Maths or ICT expertise in a role where progress is personal and your impact is visible, we'd love to hear from you.

Abbey Gardens is a brand-new specialist school, part of Acorn Education, supporting young people aged 11-16 with SEMH needs. Opened in June 2026, we provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is supported to thrive. Our personalised curriculum builds on the National Curriculum while being adapted to each student's individual needs, strengths and aspirations. We combine academic learning with personal development, helping students build confidence, resilience, independence and essential life skills. As the school grows, our curriculum will remain relevant, engaging and purposeful, with Key Stage 3 and 4 pathways offering recognised accreditation wherever possible. Our aim is simple: to help every young person overcome barriers, experience success and build a positive future.
